PHP Developer - PHP Lead - PHP Development Manager

Currently, we are seeking a PHP Lead - Development Manager to help our client in New York City, play an pivotal role on no: of their technology initiatives. This is a Full Time need.

Position: PHP / LAMP Tech Lead
Location: New York, NY
Compensation: Up to $140,000/yr + Benefits + Equity

Our client, in New York is looking for a senior developer with 5 to 7 years of experience. This candidate will start by being in charge of an extensive system overhaul working with our outgoing CTO and should be a candidate with the right skill-set to move into the CTO position after 6 to 18 months.

The candidate will be managing at least 2 junior full-time developers underneath him.

Required skills:

Expert level knowledge and hands-on experience in PHP LAMP platform
Experience in managing and growing team of developers
Full experience in all phases of software development life cycle
Verifiable work and experience in scaling website
Prior experience working on legacy code and migrating into new technologies
Extensive experience in working with vendor, payment, social media, and other web 2.0 technologies' API
Experience in deploying, maintaining and updating security policies especially in web environment (PCI compliance)
Experience in developing and maintaining email delivery systems and their API (over 1MM/month)

Technologies:

LAMP, API, jQuery, database tuning and optimization, system administration Extra Credit:

Responsibilities:

Serve as technical lead on projects involving web application design, development, deployment.
Research new technological solutions

Qualifications:

Min 8 years of experience architecting & developing complex web applications
Min 5 years of experience in php, LAMP stack and other open source technologies

Responsibilities:

Builds and develops back end system components using a J2EE-based framework
Works with lead developer to during all phases of the software development release cycle
Documents code to ensure supportability and maintainability of core system assets
Writes unit tests to ensure code coverage
Promotes shared ownership in the code-base and assists other developers
Mentors junior developers when needed

Requirements:

5+ years of developing complex Java / J2EE applications

Benefits
Even though we are a startup, we do provide many benefits. Medical insurance is provided, covering approximately 80% of an individuals monthly payment. Family polices of all kinds are offered, but not subsidized by our client. The same is true for dental and vision coverage. All health insurance programs start on your first day of employment. Our client also provides a 401k program. In addition, dinner is provided for those working late and every week we do Fried Chicken Friday, or Falefal Friday, and occasionally Pizza Friday.
